Senior Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement RTL for mixed-signal and high-speed IP blocks intended for integration into full-chip FPGA/CPLD products. Work across the IP development flow from RTL coding and simulation to hardware bring-up and debugging.

Experience Level

Senior-level - 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for logic/IP design, verification, and integration tasks:

• Participate in IP development across the full IP flow (specification, design, verification, integration, release).
• Develop logic design and RTL (register transfer level) code and perform RTL simulation.
• Create cell libraries, functional units, IP blocks, and subsystems for full-chip integration.
• Optimize RTL for performance, area, and synthesis targets using appropriate tools and strategies.
• Create design examples and simulation examples; support IP integration and release activities.
• Support hardware bring-up, hardware verification, and post-silicon failure debug.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and verification issues.

Requirements

Required technical skills and tools experience. "Nice-to-have" items are marked where applicable.

• Strong experience with SystemVerilog for RTL design and verification.
• Experience with VCS / Synopsys simulators, linting tools, and synthesis flows.
• Proficient in scripting and programming: C/C++, Perl, Python, TCL, and Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with RTL validation and verification methodologies (preferred).
• FPGA design and programming experience (preferred).
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field as stated in the posting.
