Job Title

Senior Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Design Engineer designs and verifies digital circuits for NAND memory products. The role leads technical design and verification efforts across RTL, gate-level, and post-layout simulation and works with cross-functional teams (firmware, product engineering, validation) to meet performance, area, power, quality, and reliability targets.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of experience in digital circuit design and development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing, verifying, and bringing up digital blocks and supporting silicon validation.

  • Interpret device and system specifications and implement required functionality.
  • Conceive and develop new circuit features and define architecture specifications.
  • Support creation of firmware, schematics, and RTL blocks and integrate with product teams.
  • Develop and apply design and verification best practices across the department.
  • Perform RTL, synthesized netlist (gate-level), and post-layout verification at block, subsystem, and full-chip levels.
  • Facilitate netlist bring-up to achieve basic functionality and support tape-out revisions.
  • Deliver design simulations (including post-layout) and design verification plans; check behavior in Verilog.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering on validation plans and review silicon results; assist in reticle experiments and qualification as needed.
  • Use AI tools and create AI-based agents to support design and verification workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful candidates.

  • 5+ years of experience in digital circuit design and development.
  • Proven ability to meet performance, area, and power targets in delivered designs.
  • Experience with RTL and gate-level verification processes and methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration skills; experience working with multi-functional engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in technical leadership or project management roles.
  • Knowledge of non-volatile memory technologies (particularly NAND) and memory architecture.
  • Familiarity with architecture and verification guidelines for complex SoCs.
  • Excellent documentation, training, and communication skills.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Preferred: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
