Senior Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior member of the AISoC silicon design team focused on high-performance, high-bandwidth AI SoC subsystems. The role covers IP microarchitecture specification, RTL development, synthesis and timing closure, and SOC integration across multiple teams.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8+ years of relevant silicon/ASIC/SoC design experience (see Requirements for details).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define IP microarchitecture and produce RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for AI SoC subsystems.
- Perform synthesis, lint, CDC closure, and participate in formal/FPV/FEV activities.
- Drive timing, power, and PPA trade-offs through design and implementation cycles.
- Integrate IP into SOC-level designs and collaborate with architecture, verification, and physical design teams.
- Support post-silicon debug and deliver production-quality silicon IP.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 8+ years in digital design including microarchitecture specification and RTL coding in Verilog/SystemVerilog; CDC/Lint closure experience.
- 6+ years delivering IP or ASIC/SoC designs to production.
- 4+ years working on synthesis, timing constraints, and PPA trade-offs; experience with post-silicon debug.
- 4+ years designing NoC/fabric, networking ASICs, or complex control logic.
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check and export-control screening; may require proof of citizenship or residency documentation.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with NoCs and fabrics tuned for AI workloads.
- CPU or graphics core design experience.
- Algorithmic design experience for AI accelerators and scripting for automation.
