Senior Deep Learning Systems Architect

Role Summary

Design system- and hardware-level architecture for next-generation GPU and AI platforms. Work within the Deep Learning Architecture team to co-design processors and accelerators, develop prototypes, and validate performance for real-world AI workloads.

Senior β€” typically 10+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver architecture and system-level solutions that improve performance and efficiency for deep learning workloads.

  • Contribute to architecture features for next-generation GPUs and AI systems.
  • Stay current with deep learning research and translate algorithms into hardware/system requirements.
  • Collaborate with DL researchers, hardware architects, and software engineers across teams.
  • Co-design systems from specification through prototyping and benchmarking.
  • Analyze DL workloads, identify bottlenecks, propose and validate optimizations.
  • Build analytical models, implement prototypes, and run benchmarks to evaluate ideas.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: Strong background in machine learning with emphasis on deep neural networks and DL fundamentals.
  • Must-have: Experience adapting and training DNNs for varied tasks and workloads.
  • Must-have: Experience developing code for DNN training frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
  • Must-have: Programming fluency in C++; Python is highly desirable.
  • Must-have: Experience in numerical analysis, performance analysis/optimization, and computer architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with GPU computing (CUDA, OpenCL, OpenACC) and HPC frameworks (MPI, OpenMP).

Education Requirements

MS (or equivalent practical experience) or PhD in computer science, computer architecture, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also notes that advanced degree requirements may be substituted by additional equivalent experience.

Base salary range: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD. Eligible for equity and company benefits. Applications accepted at least until 2026-07-19.
