Senior Deep Learning Performance Architect
Role Summary
Design and evaluate processor and system architectures that accelerate deep learning, data analytics and HPC workloads. Work on energy-efficient, high-performance solutions and prototype algorithms, models and test suites to inform architecture trade-offs.
Position is on the deep learning architecture team and requires close collaboration with software, research and product teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 4+ years of relevant work or research experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture design, prototyping, and quantitative analysis of performance and energy efficiency.
- Design high-performance, energy-efficient processor and system architectures for deep learning.
- Prototype deep learning and data analytics algorithms and applications to validate architecture choices.
- Develop analytical models, simulators and test suites to evaluate performance, power and cost trade-offs.
- Profile and analyze architecture performance and energy efficiency using real workloads.
- Collaborate across software, research and product teams to influence machine learning direction.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for effective performance architecture work.
- Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning fundamentals.
- Proven background in high-performance, energy-efficient system or processor design and performance analysis.
- Experience with performance profiling, analytical performance modeling and identifying bottlenecks.
- Fluency in programming with Python and C/C++.
- Familiarity with GPU computing and parallel programming models.
- Ability to prototype algorithms and build simulation or test infrastructure.
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
