Senior Debug System Engineer, Datacenter

Role Summary

As a Senior System Debug Engineer on NVIDIA's Datacenter product engineering team (Operations), you will lead failure analysis and debug efforts during Mass Production to ensure reliable manufacturing of DGX, MGX, and HGX datacenter GPU systems.

The role covers hardware, firmware, and software failure analysis, DFx/manufacturing enablement, experiment design, and cross-functional collaboration with vendors, factories, and engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Investigate factory build issues, determine root cause, and deliver corrective actions and documentation.

  • Perform failure analysis on GPU baseboards, servers, and rack-level systems.
  • Analyze HW, SW, and FW logs and failures and propose debug and mitigation strategies.
  • Design experiments; collect and analyze data to identify root causes.
  • Support DFx, Build-for-Test, and manufacturing enablement activities to meet schedule.
  • Produce timely root-cause reports, corrective action plans, and debug guides.
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, factory personnel, and internal teams globally.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Extensive failure analysis or debug experience on motherboards, graphics cards, servers, PCs, or datacenter systems.
  • Proven skills in one or more areas: hardware, software, components, process, test, or validation.
  • Experience enabling DFx requirements and supporting manufacturing readiness.
  • Familiarity with characterization equipment such as oscilloscopes and protocol/analyzers.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with rack-level system debugging and large-scale datacenter hardware.
  • Prior interaction with global vendors and factory operations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
