Senior Data Scientist, Assembly & Test
Role Summary
Join the manufacturing analytics team to develop and productionize machine learning, computer vision, and AI solutions that improve yield, detect defects, and automate engineering tasks in semiconductor assembly and test.
Experience Level
Senior level. The role expects approximately 5+ years of experience applying predictive modeling in industry.
Responsibilities
Deliver applied data science and AI solutions for high-volume manufacturing and support cross-functional teams.
- Analyze yield, defect and process data to detect anomalies and drive continuous yield improvements.
- Design and implement computer vision solutions for image and video inspection and defect detection.
- Build, validate and productionize predictive models and analytical pipelines for high-volume manufacturing data.
- Apply Generative AI, LLMs and agentic AI tools to accelerate analytics and automate engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams and clearly communicate technical insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and grow junior data scientists and contribute to team best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional competencies.
- Strong machine learning and advanced analytics expertise; proven track record deploying predictive models in production.
- Computer vision experience with image and video analytics for inspection/defect detection.
- Database proficiency across relational, NoSQL, and cloud databases (experience with Snowflake preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot or coding assistants).
- Solid software engineering practices: version control (Git), DevOps, and Agile development.
- Strong English communication and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members.
Education Requirements
Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field is expected.
