Role Summary

Senior Data Scientist based at Micron's Taoyuan Fab 11. Lead development and deployment of analytics and machine learning solutions on large-scale manufacturing datasets to improve process yield, quality, and efficiency.

Work with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to extract, clean, analyze, and productionize models and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building and operationalizing ML/analytics for semiconductor manufacturing data.

• Design, develop, validate, and deploy statistical models and machine learning solutions on large-scale manufacturing datasets.
• Perform feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, outlier detection, and data cleansing.
• Extract data from databases using SQL and other query tools and prepare data for modeling.
• Implement and maintain AI/ML pipelines and model deployment workflows (cloud and on-premise).
• Work with time-series data, images, and data with non-stationary distributions to produce actionable insights.
• Collaborate with software and manufacturing engineers to integrate models into production systems.
• Communicate results, assumptions, and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to software development practices: version control, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

Candidates should meet the technical and interpersonal expectations below.

• Must-have: Strong experience in statistical modeling, supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised learning, and feature extraction.
• Must-have: Fluency in Python and SQL; ability to extract and clean data from multiple databases.
• Must-have: Strong software development skills and ability to productionize models (pipelines, testing, documentation).
• Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, AI/ML pipeline development, LLM applications, AI agents, and model orchestration frameworks.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with time-series analysis, image data, semi-supervised learning, and handling frequently changing data distributions.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to the semiconductor or manufacturing domain and familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Nice-to-have: Experience working with terabyte- or petabyte-scale datasets.
