Senior CPU Tooling and Design Automation Engineer
Role Summary
Develop CAD, tooling and automation for CPU and SoC teams to improve design productivity and deployment across the company. Work closely with architects, chip leads, RTL and physical design teams to define feature requirements and deliver tooling for Network-on-Chip (NoC) and system-level flows.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of relevant experience in EDA tool development and flow integration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement CAD/EDA tools and automation to improve CPU/fabric design efficiency.
- Develop NoC/SoC tooling and translate chip design flow requirements into tool features.
- Create complex automation using graph algorithms to enable push-button workflows.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL, physical design and other teams to implement cross-team solutions and meet project targets.
- Drive methodologies and deployment strategies for in-house tooling across groups.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in EDA tool development and flow development.
- Proficiency with EDA-style databases and familiarity with graph algorithms.
- Experience with build systems (e.g. Make) and scripting languages.
- Experience deploying in-house EDA tools across teams and resolving flow issues.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; willingness to learn and broaden technical scope.
Nice-to-have:
- Background with Network-on-Chip tooling.
- Experience with netlist-level tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
