Senior CPU Formal Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Own formal verification strategy and execution for advanced out-of-order CPU cores. Work closely with micro-architects and RTL designers to verify complex execution pipelines and deliver formal sign-off criteria.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include planning, implementing, and maintaining formal verification efforts for CPU blocks.
- Identify blocks suitable for formal verification and prioritize targets.
- Create formal test plans defining properties to implement and sign-off metrics.
- Implement and maintain formal verification environments (Chisel-based).
- Apply formal abstraction techniques and other FV methods to reduce complexity and prove DUT correctness.
- Debug RTL to determine root causes of failure scenarios and collaborate on fixes.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline verification workflows.
- Review formal setups and proofs with design and verification teams.
- Maintain and extend assertion libraries; train and guide team members on tool usage and best practices.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills required and preferred.
- Must-have: 5+ years of experience in formal verification of digital hardware design.
- Must-have: Extensive experience with formal abstraction techniques and formal sign-off processes.
- Must-have: Familiarity with industry formal tools (examples: VC Formal, JasperGold).
- Must-have: Knowledge of hardware description and verification languages (VHDL, Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Must-have: Strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with object-oriented programming.
- Domain interest: Demonstrated interest in processors and digital systems.
- Compliance: Role requires successful background/reference checks, proof of right to work in India, and may be contingent on export-control authorizations or licenses.
