Senior CPO System Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Hardware Switch Group in Israel as a senior system hardware engineer responsible for designing and delivering Co-Package Optic (CPO) switch systems from concept through mass production. The role requires cross-functional integration with board design, mechanics, thermal, firmware, RTL and production teams and includes hands-on lab testing and production qualification.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 8+ years of system/hardware engineering experience.

Responsibilities

The engineer will lead system-level hardware design, validation and production support for CPO switch products.

  • Define hardware requirements; review schematics, component selection, PCB layout, opto-mechanics and DFM/DFT.
  • Design and integrate CPO switch system from concept through mass production.
  • Collaborate across Board Design, Mechanics, Thermal, Production, Software/Firmware and RTL teams.
  • Perform hands-on electrical and optical integration and validation in the lab; lead debugging and problem resolution.
  • Support production qualification and ramp, including partner and vendor engagement.
  • Act as technical lead for multi-disciplinary project execution and handoffs.

Requirements

Core technical skills and proven experience required for the role.

  • 8+ years as a system or hardware engineer with experience executing complex hardware projects.
  • Hands-on lab experience with hardware validation, test equipment and HW/SW tools.
  • Proven experience leading technical, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of RTL implementations (CPLD/FPGA) and integration considerations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ownership.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with data-center switch product design and high-volume manufacturing validation/verification.
  • Experience with optical systems design, debugging and testing.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering is stated; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. No other degrees or certifications are specified.
