Senior Computer Vision and Deep Learning Hardware Architect

Role Summary

Work on architecture, modeling, and software for NVIDIA's programmable vision accelerator (PVA) within the MMPLEX PVA team, focused on automotive and robotic applications. The role involves designing, validating, and optimizing hardware and software to deliver high-performance, efficient computer-vision solutions for autonomous driving.

Experience Level

Senior-level; 3+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include application optimization, architecture modeling, performance prediction, and tool development to evaluate system behavior.

  • Deliver efficient software and kernels for PVA targeting autonomous driving solutions.
  • Analyze, prototype, and optimize key computer-vision and deep-learning applications for existing and new PVA architectures.
  • Build models to predict performance, power, and reliability; propose and evaluate new architecture features.
  • Develop and maintain tools to analyze, simulate, validate, and verify application performance and energy consumption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve PVA performance, efficiency, reliability, and programmability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in computer engineering, computer science, AI, or related fields.
  • Excellent C/C++ programming and software design skills.
  • Strong background in computer architecture and high-performance computing.
  • Experience with performance modeling, profiling, debugging, code optimization, or architectural knowledge of CPU and DSP.

Nice-to-have:

  • DSP programming, performance analysis, modeling, and optimization experience; GPU programming experience is a plus.
  • Autonomous vehicle software development experience.
  • Experience characterizing and modeling system-level performance and executing comparison studies.
  • Experience in deep learning, computer vision, or self-driving car domains.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent practical experience.
