Job Title

Senior Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer — Hardware Co-Optimization (Edge AI/SoC)

Role Summary

Design and optimize computer vision and segmentation algorithms and co-design SoC/hardware to run them efficiently on edge and embedded platforms. Collaborate with ML, firmware, software and hardware teams to deploy, profile, and tune models under memory, compute, and bandwidth constraints.

Experience Level

Senior; minimum qualifications indicate at least 2+ years with a Bachelor's degree, 1+ year with a Master’s degree, or a PhD.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and optimize segmentation and real-time computer vision algorithms.
  • Implement and tune efficient deep learning architectures, including Transformers, state-space/Mamba-style models, and attention-optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with hardware and SoC teams to co-design accelerators and data pipelines for CV/ML workloads.
  • Profile and optimize model performance across memory, compute, and bandwidth constraints.
  • Contribute to system-level architecture decisions for next-generation CV/AI products.
  • Work with firmware and software teams to deploy models on embedded and edge platforms.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Strong background in computer vision, especially segmentation (classical and deep learning-based).
  • Solid understanding of SoC architecture including compute accelerators, memory hierarchy, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with modern ML architectures: Transformers and efficient variants, attention-optimization (e.g., FlashAttention), and state-space/Mamba models.
  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++ and experience with ML/CV frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, OpenCV).
  • Experience profiling and optimizing models for resource-constrained/real-time environments.
  • Ability to work across algorithm, software, and hardware boundaries.
  • Nice-to-have: hardware modeling, FPGA prototyping, RTL design, quantization/pruning/distillation, real-time CV systems, and hardware simulators.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree in those fields with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR a PhD in those fields. Related technical fields and equivalent combinations of education and relevant engineering experience are accepted as described in the minimum qualifications.
