Senior Compute Subsystem Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Senior Compute Subsystem Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on verification of multimedia and compute subsystems for next-generation mobile SoCs within the ASICs engineering team. Drive integration-level verification strategy, create UVM/SystemVerilog environments, write tests and regressions, and collaborate with architects and design teams to find and resolve issues.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests a minimum of 3+ years of ASIC design or verification experience; degree-based alternatives are summarized in Education Requirements.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing integration verification and producing reliable verification infrastructure and deliverables.
- Develop integration verification strategy and test plans for multimedia and compute subsystems in collaboration with design and architecture teams.
- Implement verification environments and testbenches using UVM/SystemVerilog.
- Write directed and randomized tests, regressions, and C reference models to validate RTL functionality and performance.
- Perform RTL code, functional, and assertion coverage analysis; run gate-level simulations as required.
- Apply power-aware verification techniques to validate low-power features.
- Develop monitors, scoreboards, sequencers, and sequences; enable and extend debug infrastructure.
- Interpret performance checks, identify issues, and communicate deviations from plan to leads promptly.
- Drive productivity improvements and adopt new verification methodologies and flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Thorough understanding of digital design concepts.
- Strong UVM and SystemVerilog skills; experienced building UVM testbenches.
- Practical experience with bus protocols such as AHB and AXI.
- Perl and Python scripting experience for test and infrastructure automation.
- Experience checking builds, navigating testbenches, analyzing coverage, and adding debug hooks.
- Ability to develop and validate C reference models for verification.
- Familiarity with coverage analysis (functional, assertion, RTL) and gate-level simulation flows.
- Experience with power-aware verification techniques and low-power design features.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years ASIC design/verification experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 1+ years experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field. Posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
