Senior Compiler Engineer, Agentic Compiler Systems
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior Compiler Engineer, Agentic Compiler Systems
Role Summary
Design and implement advanced compiler and verification systems that improve developer productivity, performance, and numerical correctness across NVIDIA's accelerated computing stack. Work with compiler, runtime, library, and hardware teams to productize agentic compilation, verification, and optimization workflows.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5+ years of relevant industry or academic experience in compilers, AI systems, numerical computing, verification, or high-performance computing.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on building intelligent low-level compiler systems, verification infrastructure, and cross-stack integration.
- Design, build, and optimize intelligent low-level compiler systems, including compiler-oriented agents and multi-step transformation workflows.
- Develop systems that reason about low-level IR, code generation, optimization passes, scheduling, numerical precision, and performance tradeoffs for GPU workloads.
- Build data, environments, verification, reward, and evaluation systems to improve compiler quality, numerical correctness, robustness, and performance.
- Implement infrastructure for numerical validation, differential testing, regression detection, and correctness verification of generated or transformed code.
- Co-design compiler and verification workflows across models/inference, compiler pipelines, runtimes, libraries, kernels, and GPUs.
- Collaborate with internal compiler, CUDA, library, runtime, and hardware teams to integrate new capabilities into products.
- Drive performance analysis and optimization for generated/transformed code with emphasis on correctness, scalability, and deployment.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.
- 5+ years of relevant industry or academic experience in compilers, AI systems, numerical computing, verification, or high-performance computing.
- Hands-on experience in compiler implementation, program analysis, code generation, optimization, low-level performance engineering, or correctness infrastructure.
- Experience with agent systems, compiler automation, numerical analysis, program verification, differential testing, or formal/semi-formal validation methods.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; solid software engineering practices.
- Experience with GPU programming and performance optimization using CUDA or comparable accelerator platforms.
- Ability to work across system boundaries from model-driven workflows and compiler infrastructure to runtime and hardware-aware optimization.
- Nice-to-have: Rust experience; experience with LLVM, MLIR, PTX, Triton, AI-assisted compilation, autotuning, equivalence checking, or published/open-source leadership.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. MS or PhD preferred. (Degrees, fields, and "or equivalent experience" are explicitly mentioned.)
