Role Summary

Work on R&D for circuit simulation engines focused on high-speed channel modeling within Synopsys' signal and power integrity product suite. Collaborate with product, field applications, QA, and customers to develop, integrate, and deliver simulation capabilities used across semiconductor design workflows.

Experience Level

Senior-level — 5+ years of experience in the EDA software industry, specifically in circuit simulation or signal/power integrity domains.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing simulation engines, creating analysis methodologies, integrating with customer testbenches, and improving accuracy and performance at scale.

• Develop and optimize circuit simulation software for high-speed channel modeling, including linear and nonlinear device characterization.
• Design and refine methodologies for equalization, timing jitter analysis, and voltage-noise characterization.
• Integrate simulation engines into signal and power integrity testbench environments used by customers.
• Debug and improve simulation accuracy and performance for s-parameters, crosstalk, and inter-symbol interference scenarios.
• Work directly with customers and field teams to translate real-world signal and power integrity challenges into software features.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, and field applications to align capabilities with customer workflows.
• Write and maintain production-quality C/C++ code that ships as part of EDA tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills followed by relevant nice-to-have items.

• Must-have: 5+ years in the EDA software industry with hands-on circuit simulation or signal/power integrity experience.
• Must-have: Deep knowledge of circuit simulation fundamentals, solver algorithms, convergence behavior, and accuracy/performance trade-offs.
• Must-have: Strong understanding of signal and power integrity concepts: s-parameters, inter-symbol interference, crosstalk, jitter, and voltage noise.
• Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ for developing and maintaining production-grade simulation software.
• Must-have: Fluency in English and Japanese with technical communication ability in both languages.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working directly with customers or field teams to gather requirements and shape product features.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
