Senior Circuit Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Circuit Methodology Engineer responsible for defining and driving circuit methodologies across GPUs and SoCs to ensure correct circuit behavior, performance, quality, and product readiness from pre-silicon through productization. Works within the Silicon Co-Design Group and partners with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into reusable methods, validation strategies, and tooling.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires approximately 8+ years of semiconductor/VLSI design experience and demonstrated technical leadership in complex silicon or circuit methodology work.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include establishing methodology direction, accelerating NPI through early validation, and enabling cross-functional execution to meet release criteria.

• Lead circuit methodology strategy and delivery covering behavior, performance, quality, feature readiness, and release criteria from pre-silicon through productization.
• Develop left-shift characterization, prototyping, and early validation methods to reduce downstream risk and improve execution readiness.
• Convert incomplete silicon data into hypothesis trees, measurement plans, and actionable closure paths; evaluate impacts and tradeoffs across performance, quality, coverage, cost, and schedule.
• Translate feature goals and circuit behavior into executable requirements, validation strategies, screening plans, reusable frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Align feature intent, execution, and release readiness with multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Design and validate secure, traceable AI-assisted workflows for analysis, debug, and methodology automation while maintaining human oversight for critical decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and capabilities for the role.

• 8+ years of semiconductor design experience with strong technical leadership in silicon or circuit methodology projects.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge hardware and software specifications with silicon implementation.
• Proven track record delivering prototyping, left-shift, and silicon-correlation methodologies covering circuit behavior, performance, quality, and product readiness.
• Hands-on background in silicon bring-up, validation, test coverage optimization, yield ramp, and resolving quality issues.
• Experience driving cross-functional technical execution to meet critical project deliverables.
• Practical experience using AI tools and AI-augmented engineering workflows for analysis and automation.
• History of creating reusable methods, frameworks, or tools adopted across teams or programs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for multi-functional alignment.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field; or equivalent practical experience. (The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree.)
