Job Title

Senior Circuit Designer

Role Summary

Design custom transistor-level circuit IP and lead its validation from simulation through post‑silicon bringup and characterization. Work within the Circuit Solutions Group and coordinate with layout, verification, test, and product teams to deliver test‑chip silicon and production‑ready designs.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of transistor‑level circuit design and validation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, validation, and silicon bringup for custom circuit IP.

  • Develop architecture and schematics for custom circuit IP; support layout and silicon integration.
  • Simulate and optimize circuit performance across process, voltage, temperature, variation, and post‑layout effects.
  • Define test plans and measurement capabilities for test‑chip IP and own post‑silicon bringup and characterization.
  • Debug silicon issues, correlate measurements with simulation, and drive design improvements.
  • Collaborate with layout, verification, test, and product teams; develop automation for simulation and data analysis.

Requirements

Core qualifications and skills required for immediate contribution.

  • 5+ years of transistor‑level circuit design and validation experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital or mixed‑signal circuit design, synthesis, and timing.
  • Hands‑on post‑silicon bringup experience, lab measurements, and circuit debug.
  • Ability to analyze silicon data and communicate results clearly across teams.
  • Proficiency with scripting or data analysis tools such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.

Nice to have:

  • Experience bringing up and characterizing custom IP on test chips.
  • Experience with voltage regulation, hardware security, silicon monitor circuits, ATE testing, or bench instrumentation.
  • Experience with statistical variation analysis and silicon‑to‑simulation correlation.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
