Job Title

Senior Chip Lead Engineer-SoC/ASIC

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for driving full-chip programs from architecture through production release. Acts as a cross-functional technical partner across hardware, software, validation, packaging, and manufacturing teams.

Expected to provide deep technical contributions while owning program-level tradeoffs, schedules, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment.

Experience Level

Senior level. Requires substantial experience: the posting specifies 10+ years in the semiconductor industry and 8+ years of hands-on ASIC and/or FPGA design experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for leading technical execution, coordinating across teams, and resolving complex design and production issues.

  • Lead chip design initiatives from architecture and specification through production ramp.
  • Provide technical guidance across RTL development, verification, physical design, silicon bring-up, and production release.
  • Drive technical decisions and system-level tradeoffs in ambiguous, rapidly changing projects.
  • Partner with program managers, chip leads, customers, foundries, IP vendors, and EDA tool suppliers to align schedule, resources, and risks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across hardware, software (including device drivers), validation, packaging, and manufacturing teams.
  • Identify and resolve design, timing, power, and manufacturing issues; lead debugging and characterization efforts.
  • Improve design methodologies, verification flows, and engineering practices; contribute to technical strategy and capability growth.

Requirements

Must-have technical and professional qualifications for successful performance in this role.

  • 10+ years semiconductor industry experience and 8+ years hands-on ASIC and/or FPGA design experience.
  • Deep expertise in SoC/subsystem architecture, RTL design and synthesis, verification methodologies, and physical design principles.
  • Proficiency with Verilog, VHDL, and/or SystemVerilog and practical experience with industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Strong knowledge of timing closure, power optimization techniques, DFT/manufacturing test, and silicon bring-up/debug.
  • Experience with package development, production ramp processes, and manufacturing/production release activities.
  • Experience with system software development including device drivers or low-level software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to influence without formal authority, and demonstrated cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-directed, adaptable in ambiguous environments, and able to set clear execution plans across stakeholders.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is required; Master's degree preferred.
