Senior Chip Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a Senior Chip Design Engineer on the Switch Silicon team in NVIDIA's Networking business unit, you will design and verify next-generation switch silicon blocks used in high-throughput, low-latency networking devices. The role is part of a combined design and verification team and requires cross-functional collaboration with architecture and firmware groups.
Experience Level
Senior; typically 4+ years of relevant chip/RTL design or verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and simulation of switch silicon blocks, and collaboration across teams to deliver to specification.
- Develop and implement RTL or verification code for switch silicon core units.
- Build reference models and perform simulation and verification of chip blocks against specifications.
- Create and execute verification plans and testbenches; debug and resolve failures.
- Work closely with Architecture, Micro-Architecture, and Firmware teams to refine specifications and designs.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to performance and power optimization efforts.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven experience in RTL design or RTL verification.
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience in chip design or verification.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across engineering groups.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in networking or switch silicon design.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
