Senior CAD Software Engineer - IC design
Role Summary
Responsible for automating and maintaining EDA/IP design flows (including ARM flows), developing and deploying CAD software, and ensuring robust CI/CD and QA across IPs. Works within the CAD/EDA team to enable IC design through reliable tooling and automation.
Experience Level
Senior — 6 to 8 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
The role owns EDA flow automation, software lifecycle, and CAD operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement automation for EDA and IP design flows using scripting and AI tools.
- Gather requirements, develop, test, and deploy CAD/EDA software applications.
- Create test cases, implement CI/CD pipelines, and manage the release process.
- Debug and troubleshoot environment and software issues that affect flows and IPs.
- Install and maintain EDA tools and license systems; perform CAD operational tasks.
- Drive assigned initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams while following EHS and security requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6–8 years of experience in EDA/CAD or related software engineering roles.
- Experience automating EDA flows and owning software from requirements through deployment.
- Proven ability to debug software and environment issues; experience with CI/CD for releases.
- Familiarity with EDA tool installation, licensing, and CAD operations.
Nice-to-have:
- Strong programming experience in Python, Java, and/or C.
- Knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and cluster scheduling concepts (e.g., LSF).
- Understanding of IP flows including logic, memory, and FIP flows; experience with ARM flows.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to aid automation.
Education Requirements
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech (or equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field.
