Job Title
Senior CAD Engineer
Role Summary
Join a small infrastructure team that builds and operates the platform coordinating large-scale semiconductor design flows across global datacenters. The engineer will own and modernize platform components, support production services, and enable EDA tool workflows used by chip designers.
Experience Level
Senior level β typically 5+ years of software engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and operate systems that coordinate semiconductor design tasks across global datacenters.
- Own architecture for one or more platform components: interfaces, data models, and service boundaries.
- Modernize legacy services and lead migration strategies for Perl/Python backends.
- Debug and improve production services spanning web browsers, containerized microservices, and bare-metal Linux hosts.
- Build and maintain web interfaces to configure, launch, and analyze EDA tools and design flows.
- Mine and analyze large telemetry datasets to improve flows and detect regressions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and technical standards.
- Optionally contribute directly to physical design of GPU, CPU, SoC, and networking products.
Requirements
Core qualifications and skills.
Must have:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems.
- Proven software architecture and design skills: defining service boundaries, APIs, and data models.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Perl; familiarity with JavaScript and web technologies.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale and owning Linux-based production services.
- Proven ability to lead projects through their full lifecycle, from requirements to maintenance.
Nice to have:
- Experience with workflow orchestration systems (Airflow, Argo, Temporal, Luigi, or similar).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch/Kibana for telemetry and dashboarding.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL datastores (MSSQL, MySQL, SQLite, etc.).
