Senior ATE Test Engineer (f/m/d)
Black SemiconductorJob Title
Senior ATE Test Engineer (f/m/d)
Role Summary
Own bring-up and operation of high-volume 300 mm wafer ATE test infrastructure for electronic-photonic integrated circuits. Work with test engineering, process, design, and manufacturing teams to move characterization methods into production and support yield, reliability, and failure analysis.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 5 years of hands-on ATE and wafer test experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Set up, qualify, calibrate, and maintain ATE test cells for high-volume wafer testing.
- Develop, debug, and optimize automated test programs for DC, RF, optical, and electro-optical device characterization.
- Specify, qualify, and integrate probe cards and related interface hardware with vendors.
- Collect and analyze wafer-level data to determine pass/fail, support yield monitoring, SPC, and failure analysis.
- Transfer laboratory characterization methods into production test protocols and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on measurement plans, DFT implementation, and test throughput optimization.
- Support supplier qualification, vendor evaluation, and incoming material characterization.
- Create test documentation and training materials that meet industry and customer quality expectations.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills.
- Must-have: At least five years of hands-on experience setting up and operating ATE systems, including wafer probers and probe card specification/qualification/integration.
- Must-have: Strong programming skills in Java and Python for test automation, instrument control, and automated data collection.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with electrical, optical, and electro-optical measurements on EIC and PIC devices; RF or high-speed testing is a plus.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge of design-for-test (DFT) methodologies and experience transferring lab test methods into production.
- Must-have: Proficiency in data processing, statistical analysis, visualization (Python/Java/LabVIEW), and applying SPC for yield and process monitoring.
- Must-have: Experience with supplier management, vendor qualification, and incoming material characterization.
- Nice-to-have: Advanced knowledge of optoelectronic device physics, graphene-based devices, photonic component qualification, reliability testing standards, or packaging testing.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in fast-paced startups or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
