Senior ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power AI Subsystems
QualcommJob Title
Senior ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power AI Subsystems
Role Summary
Join the Low Power Audio/AI ASIC team that designs ultra-low-power subsystems for on-device audio and context-aware AI. The role focuses on verification activities across pre- and post-silicon phases to ensure functional correctness, low power behavior, and verification closure for next-generation ASICs.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typically requires 3+ years of ASIC design, verification or implementation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary verification responsibilities for low-power ASIC IP and subsystems.
- Contribute to core verification during pre- and post-silicon phases via simulation.
- Develop and execute test plans and drive verification closure with design teams.
- Create and maintain testbenches, assertions, and functional coverage models focused on scalability and reuse.
- Implement and improve automation flows for verification and development processes.
- Lead complex debug activities throughout the development cycle (pre- and post-silicon).
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to other engineers.
- Collaborate closely with design teams to define verification methodology and required tests.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical verification experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Minimum: 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, implementation or related experience.
- Proficiency with RTL design languages (Verilog, VHDL) and ability to write synthesizable RTL.
- Solid understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts.
- Experience with hardware verification languages and methodologies (SystemVerilog testbench/UVM and/or SystemC).
- Experience developing testbenches, assertions, and functional coverage.
- Familiarity with basic C or C++ for test infrastructure or scripting integration.
Nice-to-have:
- Domain knowledge: audio codecs/standards, bus/interconnects (AHB, AXI), CPU architectures (ARM v7/v8, cache, MMU, security).
- Strong knowledge of digital circuits and event-driven simulators.
- Scripting and build tools: Perl, tcsh, Python, GNU Make.
- Experience with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Science, Engineering or a related field β or equivalent practical experience (the posting specifies degree options with corresponding experience levels).
