Senior ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power AI Subsystems
QualcommJob Title
Senior ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power AI Subsystems
Role Summary
Work on verification of ultra-low-power AI and audio subsystems within SoCs, focusing on simulation-driven verification pre- and post-silicon. The team develops scalable verification environments, closes verification plans, and reduces power-related design risk.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 3+ years of relevant ASIC design or verification experience (posting lists 3+ years as a requirement).
Responsibilities
Primary verification duties for low-power ASIC subsystems include:
- Contribute to core verification during pre- and post-silicon phases using simulation.
- Drive test plan development, execution, and verification closure with design and verification teams.
- Create and maintain scalable testbenches, assertions, and functional coverage models.
- Implement and maintain flows to automate verification and development processes.
- Lead complex debug activities throughout development and after silicon bring-up.
- Provide technical supervision and lead by example; collaborate with design on verification methodology and test requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 3+ years ASIC design, verification, implementation, or related work experience.
- Proficiency with Verilog or VHDL and ability to write clean, synthesizable RTL.
- Experience with hardware verification languages and methodologies (SystemVerilog/UVM and/or SystemC).
- Strong understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts and digital circuit behavior.
- Working knowledge of C or C++.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with audio technologies (e.g., MP3, MIDI), bus/interconnects (AHB, AXI), or CPU architecture (ARM v7/v8, cache, MMU).
- Familiarity with scripting and build tools such as Perl, tcsh, Python, and GNU Make.
- Experience with automotive safety concepts and standards such as ISO 26262.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of ASIC design/verification experience; OR a Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience; OR a PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
