Job Title

Senior ASIC Verification Engineer - HSIO

Role Summary

Verify the design and implementation of high-speed I/O (HSIO) controllers at IP and sub-system levels for next-generation SOCs and GPUs. Work on verification plans, testbenches, coverage-driven methodologies, and collaborate with architects, designers, and silicon teams to ensure design correctness.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 5+ years of relevant ASIC verification experience. Expect leadership in verification strategy and independent ownership of IP/sub-system verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities for HSIO controllers and related IP.

  • Develop verification plans, tests, and infrastructure for IP and sub-system verification.
  • Build reusable bus functional models, monitors, checkers, and scoreboards following coverage-driven methodologies.
  • Use SystemVerilog and UVM to create constrained-random testbenches, functional coverage, and assertion-based checks.
  • Debug RTL, testbenches, and failures using simulators and related tooling; root-cause analysis of issues.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and pre/post-silicon teams to close verification gaps.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years of ASIC verification experience at unit, sub-system, or SoC level.
  • Proven expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM for verification.
  • Experience verifying IP or interconnect protocols (examples: Ethernet, USB, SATA).
  • Experience with constrained-random stimulus, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard simulation and verification tools; strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with system-level HSIO architectures (e.g., Ethernet, CXL), scripting (Python/Perl), and AI-assisted analysis tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
