Senior ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification engineer responsible for architecting and executing verification for complex VLSI/ASIC products and platforms. The role provides technical leadership across design, validation, and test for prototypes and production, and mentors less-experienced engineers.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 10+ years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership and delivery of VLSI verification activities across projects.
- Lead project teams of VLSI and electronic engineers and outsourced partners through design, validation, and test phases.
- Define and review verification plans, architecture, and test strategies for complex ASICs.
- Develop and execute simulation, emulation, and system-level verification environments.
- Provide technical feedback to improve design quality and compliance with VLSI standards.
- Drive adoption of new verification technologies and methodologies across the organization.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- 10+ years of experience in VLSI/ASIC design, verification, or implementation.
- Strong experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl or equivalent) and software languages (C/C++).
- Hands-on experience with EDA tools, FPGA flows, and hardware description languages.
- Deep understanding of digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI design principles.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent technical judgment.
- Demonstrated leadership, written and verbal communication skills, and experience mentoring engineers.
- Nice-to-have: Specman knowledge, patents/publications in VLSI or hardware design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
