Senior ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's ASIC verification team in Austin to verify GPU designs used across consumer graphics and AI products. The role focuses on developing verification infrastructure and testbenches to ensure correctness of design, architecture, and micro-architecture prior to tape-out.

Experience Level

Senior - requires approximately 5 years of relevant ASIC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Responsible for planning and executing verification activities to validate GPU ASIC designs.

  • Verify design and implementation of industry-leading GPU ASICs at unit and system levels.
  • Apply advanced methodologies (for example, UVM) including random stimulus, functional coverage, and assertions.
  • Define verification scope, develop infrastructure, and build testbenches and automation.
  • Validate architecture and golden models against micro-architecture and RTL.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, firmware, and system verification teams to resolve issues.
  • Debug failures, analyze root causes, and drive fixes to closure.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • 5+ years of ASIC verification experience focusing on complex digital designs.
  • Proven experience with SystemVerilog or similar hardware verification languages.
  • Experience using verification tools and flows (for example, VCS, waveform debuggers, simulators).
  • Strong skills in building testbench environments for unit- and system-level verification and in using functional coverage and assertions.
  • Proficiency in C programming and strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented concepts.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture and digital design fundamentals.
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
  • Nice-to-have: prior experience verifying processor pipelines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
