Job Title

Senior ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead ASIC/VLSI verification activities for complex products and platforms at HPE. Provide technical leadership to project teams and partners across design, validation, and testing phases to deliver reliable production ASICs.

Acts as a subject-matter expert in VLSI verification, driving architecture-level verification strategy, tool and methodology adoption, and mentoring less-experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification leadership across ASIC projects and for improving product quality and process.

  • Lead technical teams of VLSI/ASIC engineers and external partners across design, verification, validation, and testing stages.
  • Define and review verification plans, testbenches, and metrics to ensure compliance with VLSI development standards.
  • Develop verification strategy and architecture-level verification approaches for complex platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to less-experienced engineers.
  • Drive integration of new verification technologies and methodologies into projects.
  • Participate in selecting and developing future technical leaders within the organization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 10+ years of experience in VLSI/ASIC design, verification, or implementation.
  • Proficient with Verilog/SystemVerilog and experienced in UVM-based verification methodologies.
  • Strong scripting experience (Python, Perl, Tcl or equivalent).
  • Experience with software languages such as C or C++.
  • Expert knowledge of digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI design and verification principles.
  • Experience with EDA tools, hardware description languages, and FPGA tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of technical leadership (patents/publications or equivalent evidence preferred).
  • Nice-to-have: Specman familiarity.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field; equivalent practical experience accepted. Posting also references coursework in VLSI design/concepts.
