Job Title

Senior ASIC Timing Engineer, DFT

Role Summary

Perform timing analysis and closure for design-for-test (DFT) logic across NVIDIA chips, including GPUs, CPUs, DPUs, LPUs and SoCs. Work with design, clocking, and test teams to define constraints, implement ECOs, and improve timing convergence and workflows.

Experience Level

Senior. Posting specifies BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience, or MS with 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on timing closure for DFT logic and improving timing flows and automation.

  • Drive timing analysis and closure for DFT logic at all hierarchical levels across multiple chip families.
  • Collaborate with product design (PD), DFX, clock design, and other engineering teams to define timing strategies and constraints for custom DFT designs.
  • Develop and apply ECOs to correct timing and converge on power targets.
  • Implement and refine timing constraints and signoff methodologies.
  • Improve workflows through automation, resilience, and standardization.
  • Support full-chip and sub-chip timing convergence activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; education details are listed separately below.

  • Hands-on experience in Static Timing Analysis (STA) and driving timing convergence for full-chip and sub-chip designs in advanced technology nodes.
  • Proven ability to analyze and fix timing paths using ECOs.
  • Proficiency in developing timing constraints and signoff flows.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard timing convergence tools.
  • Understanding of DFT logic and experience with DFT timing closure for modes such as scan and iJTAG.
  • Domain-specific STA experience (for example SerDes, processor cores, IO, SMVA) and methodology/workflow development experience.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or MS with 2 years of relevant experience. Fields listed: Electrical and Computer Engineering.
