Job Title

Senior ASIC Timing Engineer, DFT

Role Summary

Lead timing analysis and closure for design-for-test (DFT) logic across GPU/CPU/DPU/SoC projects at block, cluster, and full-chip levels. Collaborate with product design, DFX, clocking, and other teams to define timing strategies, close timing and power targets, and implement ECOs. Drive automation and standardization of timing workflows.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Experience guidance: BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years, or MS with 2+ years (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

Primary day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Perform static timing analysis (STA) and drive timing closure for DFT logic at block, sub-chip, and full-chip levels.
  • Develop timing constraints for custom DFT implementations and verify their correctness.
  • Collaborate with PD, DFX, clocking, and other teams to define timing closure strategies and converge timing and power goals.
  • Analyze timing failures and implement ECOs to fix critical paths.
  • Improve and automate timing workflows to increase resilience, repeatability, and standardization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience in Static Timing Analysis (STA) and driving timing convergence at full-chip and sub-chip levels in advanced technology nodes.
  • Proven ability to analyze timing paths and implement ECOs to resolve timing violations.
  • Experience developing timing constraints and constraint-driven flows.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-standard timing convergence tools and methodologies.

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of DFT logic and experience with DFT timing closure for modes such as scan and iJTAG.
  • Domain-specific STA experience (SerDes, processor cores, IO, SMVA, etc.).
  • Experience in methodology or workflow development for timing/DFT teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BS) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree (MS) with 2+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience is explicitly accepted.
