Senior ASIC IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Plan, build, and execute verification for AMD custom silicon/ASIC designs to ensure a bug-free final design. Work closely with architecture, design, functional DV, emulation, platform debug and post-silicon teams across sites and timezones.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of Design Verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining verification scope, implementing verification environments, and driving sign-off.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, functional DV, emulation, and platform debug teams to gather verification requirements.
- Create detailed testplans from architecture specifications and implement verification cases.
- Develop and maintain UVM/OVM testbenches and verification frameworks.
- Implement stimulus, checkers, scoreboards, functional coverage and assertions.
- Execute DV flows and own DV sign-off to ensure design quality before tape-out.
- Support post-silicon debug and root-cause investigations with post-silicon teams.
- Bring up SoC/verification environments and validate RESET/CLOCK flows and debug interfaces.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous methodology improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog and C; proficient with UVM/OVM and developing UVM-based testbenches.
- Proven ability to develop and debug testbenches using simulation and debug tools such as VCS and Verdi.
- Thorough understanding of verification methodology, stimulus generation, checkers, scoreboards, and coverage-driven verification.
- Understanding of SoC design and subsystem/IP-level verification; experience with bring-up of SoC verification environments and RESET/CLOCK flows.
- Experience in wireless protocol design verification and high-speed interface verification.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with PCIE, DDR, USB or other high-speed interfaces; familiarity with AXI/AHB/APB bus protocols.
- Prior exposure to ARM/RISC processor-based designs and firmware/RTL debugging.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Makefile, shell) and familiarity with C++.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is listed; the posting specifies 5+ years of experience.
