Job Title

Senior ASIC Hardware Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the NVLink ASIC Design team to design and implement high-speed chip-to-chip communication and GPU subsystem logic. Work with architects, design, verification, and physical design engineers to deliver functional, high-performance, and physically implementable RTL for next-generation NVLink and GPU subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize digital logic and subsystems for GPU and interconnect products. Collaborate across teams to produce synthesis- and timing-clean implementations that meet performance and power goals.

  • Contribute to micro-architecture development and document subsystem specifications.
  • Implement RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), debug designs, and collaborate with verification teams.
  • Optimize logic to meet performance and power targets.
  • Deliver synthesis/timing-clean designs and work with physical design for routability and implementation.
  • Support chip-level activities: floor planning, power/clock distribution, timing closure, and back-end verification.
  • Develop flows and tools to support design and integration tasks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience relevant to RTL and digital ASIC design.

  • Practical understanding and hands-on experience with Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience in micro-architecture and RTL development of complex digital designs.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture and digital systems design.
  • Understanding of physical implementation and VLSI design considerations.
  • Experience with scripting (Perl, Python) to support design and automation tasks.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies 5+ years of industry experience; equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
