Senior ASIC Engineer, Switch SoC
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior ASIC Engineer, Switch SoC
Role Summary
Senior SoC Design and Integration Engineer on the Switch Silicon networking team in Bengaluru. You will define system-level methodologies, drive SOC assembly and integration, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-throughput, low-latency switch SoCs.
Experience Level
Senior β title indicates a senior role. See Education Requirements for experience guidance.
Responsibilities
Deliverable-focused duties include:
- Define project milestones, assign tasks, and track progress using an agile framework.
- Develop system-level methodologies, tools, and reusable IP to scale SoC development.
- Lead SOC assembly and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet milestone execution.
- Integrate subsystem components and deliver models for verification at cluster/sub-system/SOC/emulation levels.
- Collaborate with software teams to define HW/SW interfaces, control/status registers, interrupts, and error handling.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation (Perl, Python, or similar) for build and integration flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Practical experience across all phases of SoC development: architecture, micro-architecture, RTL design, verification, timing closure, and physical design.
- Experience with RTL and verification languages/tools (Verilog/SystemVerilog or equivalent) and EDA simulation/debug tools.
- Proven tape-out experience of complex, high-volume SoCs in advanced process nodes.
- Experience defining HW/SW interfaces and working with software teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in synthesis, physical design, DFT, RTL build, or design automation.
- Technical leadership or chip lead experience delivering complex SoCs for enterprise or HPC.
- Experience with performance/power/area analysis and close collaboration with physical design teams.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and advanced scripting beyond basic automation.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree (or equivalent practical experience). The posting specifies "BS (or equivalent experience) / MS with 4+ years of practical semiconductor design and architecture experience building complex SoCs." Equivalent industry experience is accepted.
