Senior ASIC Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior ASIC Engineer will own block-level verification for wireless connectivity designs within Qualcomm's ASIC engineering organization. The role designs and implements verification strategies and testbenches, ensures coverage goals are met, and coordinates with design and IP teams for integration and quality verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of block verification, testbench development, and cross-team integration:

  • Own block-level verification for wireless connectivity IP and achieve coverage targets.
  • Develop and maintain UVM testbenches, coding guidelines, and verification best practices.
  • Create comprehensive verification strategies covering simulation, formal verification, and HW/SW reuse.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IP and design teams for integration verification and issue resolution.
  • Work with designers to translate specifications into comprehensive test plans and verification activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education items are listed below):

  • 2+ years of ASIC verification experience.
  • 1+ year practical experience using UVM; experience building a UVM testbench from scratch.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for testbench automation.
  • Strong understanding of digital logic design and SoC architecture, including ARM CPUs and AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI).
  • Experience with testbench automation and industry-standard bug-tracking workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Nice-to-have: low-power processor verification experience and GLS flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (with 2+ years relevant experience), or a Master's degree in a related field (with 1+ year relevant experience), or a PhD in a related field. Fields referenced: science, engineering, or related technical disciplines.
