Job Title

Senior ASIC Display Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Display IP Design team in Markham to develop display solutions for Qualcomm SoCs. The role owns micro-architecture, RTL implementation, integration and verification of display IP within the display sub-system and works with architects, designers and verification engineers across sites.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum 2+ years of ASIC design experience as indicated in the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include architecture, RTL development, integration, verification support and tool-driven analysis.

  • Define micro-architecture and produce specifications from high-level requirements.
  • Develop RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) optimized for performance, area, and power.
  • Integrate pre-verified sub-IPs to implement larger display functionality.
  • Execute lint, synthesis, CLP, and CDC flows and analyze results.
  • Collaborate with verification to define test plans, debug regressions, and analyze coverage.
  • Develop SVA assertions and support formal verification efforts.
  • Communicate design status across teams and manage multiple tasks to delivery timelines.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • 2+ years of ASIC design experience.
  • Proven RTL development experience in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Strong RTL debugging and analytical skills; experience resolving CDC, lint, and synthesis issues.
  • Familiarity with clock domain crossing, reset architecture, FIFOs, bus implementations, and memory control.
  • Experience with simulation and coverage tools (e.g. VCS, Verdi, Questa/Xcelium) and rule/check tools (e.g. Spyglass, CDC checkers).
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Tcl or C for automation and flow integration.
  • Experience with power intent and analysis (UPF, CLP, PTPX, PowerPro), synthesis tools (DCG/NXT, FC), static timing (PrimeTime), and formal tools (Conformal, Formality) is preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Legally permitted to work on-site in Canada.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field. (Fields such as Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical disciplines are implied.)

Compensation: $104,900 - $154,900 (annual).
