Job Title

Senior ASIC Design Verification Engineer, Amazon Leo

Role Summary

Amazon Leo is developing a low Earth orbit satellite network. This role is on the digital SoC verification team and is responsible for verification infrastructure and test development for communication-system chips used in the satellite network.

Work includes creating verification environments, developing tests for RTL and embedded CPUs, supporting FPGA and emulation platforms, and performing formal and system-level verification.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 7+ years of verification experience with substantial exposure to UVM, system-level verification, and embedded test development.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification infrastructure, tests, and automated regressions across simulation, FPGA, and emulation platforms.

  • Design and implement verification environments that validate RTL against reference Matlab/C models.
  • Develop detailed test plans, implement tests, run regressions, and report program progress.
  • Write tests in C/C++ for execution on embedded CPUs and integrate them into verification flows.
  • Develop and validate tests for FPGA and emulation platforms.
  • Perform formal verification of complex blocks to ensure functional correctness.
  • Collaborate with design and communication-systems teams on system-level verification using UVM, SystemC, and DPI-C test benches.
  • Create and maintain highly automated regression environments and verification databases.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 7+ years of verification experience; experience in communication systems is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with UVM, C/C++, and scripting.
  • Experience writing embedded CPU tests and developing tests for FPGA/emulation platforms.
  • Experience building automated regression environments and managing verification data.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with formal verification techniques.
  • Familiarity with Matlab.
  • 10+ years of digital verification experience, preferably in communication systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
