Senior ASIC Design Engineer - XBAR IP
Role Summary
Work on micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification, and delivery of memory-subsystem components used in NVIDIA graphics processors. The role is part of the Graphics team and requires cross-functional collaboration with architects, verification, synthesis, timing, VLSI, FPGA and software teams.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience as stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining micro-architecture, implementing RTL, and ensuring designs meet performance, power, area and timing targets.
- Own micro-architecture and RTL development for assigned modules.
- Architect features to meet performance, power, and area requirements.
- Work with hardware architects to define critical features.
- Collaborate with verification teams to verify feature correctness.
- Coordinate with timing, VLSI and physical design teams to meet timing and routability constraints.
- Interact with FPGA and software teams to prototype designs and validate software integration.
- Support post-silicon verification, bring-up, and lab debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed below.
- 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience.
- Experience in RTL design of complex modules across multiple projects.
- Familiarity with design and verification tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulators; debug tools such as Debussy, GDB).
- Deep understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, DFT, timing analysis, floor-planning, ECO, bring-up and lab debug.
- Expertise in Verilog.
Nice-to-have:
- Design experience in memory subsystems or network interconnect IP.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability.
- Leadership experience leading small teams (2–3 members).
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
