Job Title

Senior ASIC Design Engineer - Terawave

Role Summary

Design and verify complex ASICs/SoCs for Blue Origin's TeraWave satellite communications program. Work on RTL design, verification, system integration, post-silicon bring-up, and FPGA prototyping with cross-functional hardware and software teams.

Role is based onsite across multiple U.S. locations and supports high-performance, low-power SoC development for space communications.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 8+ years of relevant ASIC/SoC design and verification experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver RTL and verification solutions, integrate IP and subsystems, and support silicon bring-up and FPGA flows.

  • Architect, implement, and verify Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL for complex SoC subsystems and modules.
  • Develop requirements, specifications, test plans, and functional coverage.
  • Perform CDC/RDC/LINT checks, formal verification, and code and timing coverage analysis.
  • Integrate external IP, ARM CPUs (multi-core, cache, MMU, secure boot), AXI interconnects, DMA, and NOC components.
  • Integrate high-speed interfaces: DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, and high-speed SerDes.
  • Support backend flows: DFT, LEC, floorplanning, STA, and gate-level simulation.
  • Co-simulate with software, integrate software build and simulation flows, and enable FPGA prototyping and ASIC-to/from-FPGA flows.
  • Lead post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and validation of ASIC/SoC devices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and qualifications.

  • 8+ years of hands-on ASIC/SoC design and verification experience.
  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and advanced verification methodologies and flows.
  • Experience with CDC/RDC/LINT, formal verification, and functional/code coverage collection.
  • SoC-level integration experience including CPU cores, interconnects (AXI), cache, MMU, and secure boot.
  • Experience integrating DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, high-speed SerDes, and complex third-party IP.
  • Familiarity with timing constraints, gate-level simulation, and backend signoff activities (DFT, LEC, STA).
  • Post-silicon bring-up experience and ASIC-to/from-FPGA prototyping flows.
  • Authorization to work in the United States as required by export control regulations.

Nice-to-have: DSP algorithm experience (FIR, FFT, MAC), Matlab/SystemC/C golden models, NOC and high-performance DMA experience.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (as listed in the posting).
