Senior ASIC Design Engineer - GPU
Role Summary
Senior ASIC engineer on the GPU MMU team responsible for designing and implementing a high-performance memory management unit (MMU) for GPUs and SoCs. Work is collaborative across architects, designers, and software engineers at multiple sites.
This role focuses on micro-architecture, verification, performance and power optimization for memory subsystems used in graphics, AI, and autonomous systems.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 5+ years of relevant work or research experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and micro-architect MMU components for GPUs to meet performance and power targets.
- Develop and drive architecture decisions for memory subsystems, including coherency and arbitration policies.
- Implement and execute advanced verification strategies and use simulation/debug tools to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, RTL designers, software) across sites to integrate solutions.
- Mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of relevant ASIC design or research experience.
- Experience designing memory subsystem units, including coherency and arbitration policies.
- Proficiency in Verilog and experience with build and verification tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi, Synopsys tooling).
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming with C++ and/or SystemVerilog.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working in cross-site teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
