Senior ASIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior ASIC Design Engineer responsible for RTL design and implementation of Verilog/SystemVerilog blocks for an image-processing SoC at a defense and space contractor in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on block-level and subsystem-level design, verification, and integration with SoC interconnects and high-speed interfaces.

Experience Level

Senior - preferred 10+ years hands-on RTL/ASIC design experience; 5+ years may be considered for strong candidates.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include architectural implementation, RTL design, and verification for image-processing SoC components.

• Design and implement Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL for image-processing SoC blocks.
• Work with SoC/CPU/GPU architecture and integrate IP over AXI interconnects.
• Design and optimize high-speed interfaces and high-bandwidth data paths.
• Develop and execute verification plans using UVM and functional coverage methodologies.
• Collaborate with system architects, verification, and integration teams; support bring-up and subsystem integration.
• Produce design documentation and review artifacts; mentor junior engineers as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

• Strong proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Hands-on RTL design experience (preferably 10+ years; 5+ considered for exceptional candidates).
• Experience with SoC/CPU/GPU architecture, AXI interconnects, and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with design verification and functional coverage; familiarity with UVM.
• Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX on a contract (W-2) basis.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior work on image-processing SoCs or high-bandwidth multimedia pipelines.
• Experience with CPU/GPU integration and performance optimization techniques.
