Job Title

Senior Architect, Camera ISP

Role Summary

Lead architecture and algorithm definition for camera image signal processing (ISP) used in autonomous driving, robotics, and other machine- and human-vision systems. Collaborate with hardware, software, and IP teams to deliver high-quality, real-time imaging solutions.

Focus on advancing image quality, integrating deep-learning methods into ISP pipelines, and enabling new camera applications for safety-critical and consumer products.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” typically requires 10+ years of experience in ISP architecture and imaging science.

Responsibilities

Design, specify, and validate ISP architectures and algorithms to meet performance and quality targets.

  • Define ISP architecture specifications, functional models, and verification tests in collaboration with IP architects, hardware engineers, and software teams.
  • Develop and evaluate image processing algorithms, including deep-learning based methods, for human and machine vision quality and real-time performance.
  • Analyze algorithm complexity and trade-offs to meet embedded/system constraints.
  • Engage with new application areas (e.g., vision-language-action) to derive requirements and identify ISP innovations.
  • Present and represent ISP capabilities to internal stakeholders, partners, and customers; drive cross-team alignment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 10+ years of proven experience in ISP architecture and imaging science across automotive, robotics, surveillance, or consumer camera domains.
  • Strong foundation in human- and machine-centric image quality assessment and algorithm complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency implementing and prototyping in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python; experience with deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience deploying real-time imaging solutions and optimizing algorithms for embedded systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and experience documenting and presenting technical work.

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep expertise in optics, HDR image sensors, color and tone management.
  • Experience developing and deploying deep-learning based ISP technologies in production camera systems.
  • Familiarity with industry imaging standards and benchmarks for consumer, automotive, or medical systems.
  • Proven mentorship or leadership in building imaging practices and technical culture.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory; equivalent industry experience is accepted.
