Senior Applications Engineer – Solido Characterization Suite
Role Summary
Work with semiconductor customers to drive adoption and successful deployment of the Solido Characterization Suite within library characterization and verification workflows. The role sits at the intersection of technical engineering, pre-/post-sales support, and sales enablement within Siemens EDA.
Manage multiple customer engagements, translate customer requirements into technical solutions, and provide feedback to product and R&D teams to improve the product.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of hands-on experience in library characterization, static timing analysis, or chip design and simulation.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include customer-facing technical support, solution development, and collaboration with sales and R&D.
- Engage with technical teams at semiconductor companies to identify challenges and recommend Solido-based solutions.
- Run product evaluations, technical presentations, benchmark studies, and demonstrations.
- Support pre-sales and post-sales activities: assess requirements, develop custom workflows, and support sales presentations.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable requests for R&D and product management.
- Contribute to technical sales planning and report account status to management.
- Present complex technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes for success in this role.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with library characterization, static timing analysis, or chip design and simulation (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience with Liberty data, SPICE simulation, or STA workflows.
- Strong Linux experience and proficiency with Python scripting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer-facing experience.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt quickly in technical engagements.
- Willingness and ability to work across global time zones and travel to the US, Asia, and Europe as required.
- Experience working with sales teams and presenting technical value to management-level stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: prior Applications Engineer or semiconductor industry experience; familiarity with characterization automation tools such as Solido.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
