Senior Applications Engineer - Emulation

Role Summary

Deploy and support emulation software and hardware solutions for customers, leading design bring-up, developing prototyping methodologies, and enabling successful pre-sales and post-sales engagements.

Work closely with technical sales, R&D, and customers to deliver demos, troubleshoot issues, drive product improvements, and train application engineers and customers. This position will require travel to customer and R&D sites.

Experience Level

Senior — typically expects 4+ years of experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation, or prototyping of electronic chips and systems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Deploy emulation hardware and software at customer sites and lead design bring-up.
• Develop and refine methodologies for creating and using prototypes to maximize value.
• Support pre-sales engagements and create/deliver product demos and presentations.
• Collaborate with R&D to resolve technical issues, review specifications, and propose product improvements.
• Train application engineers and customers; evolve methodologies to increase customer ROI.
• Communicate customer requirements and product enhancements to R&D and marketing.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required for customer meetings and site visits.

Requirements

Technical and professional requirements. Must-have items are listed first; preferred items follow.

• Must-have: Proficiency in RTL design and verification (SystemVerilog, Verilog, and/or VHDL); experience debugging RTL and simulations.
• Must-have: Proficient in scripting (Perl, Python, shell scripting, Makefiles) and working with data formats (XML, JSON).
• Must-have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to create and deliver live and recorded product demos and presentations.
• Must-have: Ability and willingness to travel internationally for customer and R&D site visits.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation platforms (e.g., Veloce, Palladium, Zebu) and ASIC and/or FPGA implementation experience.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Verification experience with SystemC and C/C++.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
