Senior Applications Engineer – Data Center and Energy

Role Summary

Customer-facing engineering role supporting Data Center and Energy power products. Combines application development, product evaluation, technical support, and market engagement to accelerate customer designs and product adoption.

Works with strategic customers, sales, product management, and engineering to evaluate, deploy, and validate power solutions across labs and field environments.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typically requires 5+ years of relevant applications, field, or product engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer support, hands-on validation, and technical content creation.

  • Act as technical expert for power technologies, products, and solutions.
  • Support customers through evaluation, design integration, and troubleshooting phases.
  • Perform product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and lab-based application validation.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, characterization, and debugging of hardware and systems.
  • Develop and maintain evaluation platforms, reference designs, application notes, and documentation.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers, field engineers, and internal teams.
  • Participate in customer visits, industry conferences, webinars, and training events.
  • Author technical articles, application notes, and other customer-facing content.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to inform product development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.

  • 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, field applications, product engineering, or similar roles.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, and related test equipment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues.
  • Working knowledge of software tools for device configuration, control, data analysis, or system development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable interacting directly with customers and supporting strategic accounts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel locally for customer visits and occasionally for conferences and events (approximately 10%).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
