Job Title

Senior Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Support customers in the Defense & Aerospace business unit within Qorvo’s High Performance Analog group by recommending and implementing RF/Microwave products, troubleshooting customer integrations, and producing technical product documentation.

Work closely with sales, product managers, and design teams to enable system-level integration of RF solutions for Radar, EW, Communications, and Space applications.

Experience Level

Senior (Professional). Minimum 5 years of experience in the RF/Microwave industry as an Applications or Design Engineer.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer technical support, solution recommendations, and product enablement.

  • Provide technical support for RF and microwave active and passive products across multiple applications.
  • Support products used in Radar, EW, Communications, and Space systems.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, and marketing to define customer requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Assist with design-in, system integration, and troubleshooting of customer implementations.
  • Work with design teams and product managers to create and maintain datasheets, application notes, evaluation boards, and training materials.
  • Support competitive technical analysis and product benchmarking.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and constraints for this role.

  • Minimum 5 years of RF/Microwave industry experience as an Applications or Design Engineer.
  • Practical knowledge of GaN and GaAs RF/Microwave semiconductors for discrete and MMIC power amplifiers, LNAs, phase shifters, limiters, converters, switches, and filters.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, load-pull setups, and related instruments.
  • Capability to perform linear and nonlinear simulation using ADS or Microwave Office (MWO) CAD tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Occasional travel required; position is not eligible for company visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Design engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting Radar, EW, Space, or communication system integrations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF/Microwave technology preferred.
