Senior Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for power-management IC products with a focus on automotive system-level solutions. Work with cross-functional engineering teams and customers to define requirements, develop reference designs, and drive product adoption.
This role supports product definition, customer engagements, and post-silicon evaluation to enable successful design wins and product launches.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires 5+ years of experience in power-management IC product development or hardware engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include customer-facing support, technical product definition, and collaboration across design and product teams.
- Define automotive power-management products and system-level advantages.
- Engage with customer engineers, field application engineers, and sales to gather market and product requirements.
- Maintain deep knowledge of automotive applications (ADAS, infotainment, telematics, lighting).
- Collaborate with design, product, test, and application engineering during product development.
- Develop customized solutions and reference designs; assist in evaluating and debugging new ICs.
- Provide occasional lab characterization and system-level failure analysis.
- Author technical content (application notes, whitepapers, trade articles) and deliver technical training.
- Occasional domestic and international travel (approximately 10β20%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and professional qualities.
Must-have:
- 5+ years in power-management IC product development or hardware engineering.
- Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal ICs and the IC product development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to promote IC products, provide system solutions, and drive design wins.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and regions and deliver projects on schedule.
Nice-to-have:
- Automotive application experience.
- ISO 26262 / functional safety experience.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
