Senior Application Engineering Consultant - Simulation (Competitive Replacement Expert)
Role Summary
Senior technical leader responsible for driving technical wins, customer adoption, and long-term account expansion for Siemens EDA simulation products. Acts as the primary technical interface for strategic accounts, leads presales engagements and competitive replacement campaigns, and partners closely with sales, product, and engineering teams.
Experience Level
Senior — 8+ years of relevant experience (role expects senior-level experience driving complex technical sales engagements).
Responsibilities
Deliver technical leadership across presales, evaluations, and deployments for simulation and verification toolchains.
- Build and maintain relationships with technical and managerial stakeholders across customer organizations.
- Lead technical discovery, qualification, and evaluation planning for strategic accounts.
- Plan and execute competitive replacement campaigns, including hands-on evaluations and presentations.
- Analyze customer requirements and competitive intelligence to shape sales campaigns and product feedback.
- Coordinate resources across Account Technology Managers, Product, R&D, and Support to resolve customer issues and deliver solutions.
- Define methodologies and integrate Siemens EDA tools into customer verification flows to drive adoption and pilot deployments.
- Advise on license configurations and deployment plans; anticipate obstacles and lead technical resolutions.
- Mentor and train less experienced field engineers and lead knowledge-sharing efforts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for success in this role.
- Deep, hands-on experience with digital simulators such as VCS, Xcelium, and Questa and integrating them into customer DV environments.
- Proven ability to analyze simulation log files, functional and code coverage results, and run-time performance data to optimize flows.
- Working knowledge of adjacent DV technologies: Static & Formal verification, Verification IP, DFT, and hardware-assisted verification/emulation.
- Strong scripting, makefile, and automation skills to create and maintain evaluation and deployment workflows.
- Ability to assess customer project scope and tailor competitive replacement strategies; proficiency with simulator performance and optimization techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders and deliver advanced technical training.
- Proven track record building collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams and supporting inclusive team environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent experience.
