Role Summary
Senior technical presales engineer responsible for driving technical wins, leading competitive replacement evaluations, and increasing customer adoption of Siemens EDA simulation solutions. Acts as the primary technical interface for strategic accounts and partners closely with sales, product, and support teams.

Senior-level; typically requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Lead customer-facing technical engagements across presales, evaluation, and deployment phases.
- Build and maintain relationships with technical and managerial stakeholders at customer sites.
- Lead technical discovery, opportunity qualification, and evaluation planning for strategic accounts.
- Plan and execute competitive replacement campaigns and hands-on evaluations of simulators.
- Analyze customer requirements, gather competitive intelligence, and inform sales and product strategy.
- Collaborate with Account Technology Managers, R&D, Product Engineering, and Support to resolve customer issues and influence product improvements.
- Define methodologies, integrate Siemens EDA tools into customer flows, and drive pilot deployments and product adoption.
- Advise on license configurations and own deployment plans, anticipating and removing technical obstacles.
- Mentor and train less-experienced Field AEs and lead knowledge-sharing within the team.
Requirements
Key technical skills and abilities required for success in this role.
- Deep hands-on experience with digital simulators such as VCS, Xcelium, and Questa, including integration and bring-up in customer DV environments.
- Ability to analyze simulation log files, functional/code coverage data, and runtime performance; apply optimizations.
- Working knowledge of adjacent DV technologies: static & formal verification, Verification IP, DFT, and hardware-assisted verification/emulation.
- Strong scripting, makefile, and automation skills to create and maintain verification flows.
- Proficiency in assessing project scope, designing competitive replacement strategies, and optimizing simulator performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of leading technical discussions and delivering advanced training.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across functional teams and mentor colleagues.
- Nice-to-have: experience coordinating cross-division resources and contributing to go-to-market or product strategy.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent experience; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
