Senior Application Engineer (RTL-to-GDSII digital implementation)
Role Summary
Provide technical deployment and customer-facing support for RTL-to-GDSII implementation flows on high-performance compute designs. Work with Asia-Pacific customers to optimize synthesis, place-and-route, and signoff flows and to translate customer issues into actionable solutions and R&D enhancements.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on customer engagements, methodology development, and cross-team communication.
- Lead technical engagements with customers across Asia-Pacific on high-performance compute designs (Arm, RISC-V, GPUs, DSPs) targeting advanced process nodes (7nm–3nm).
- Deploy and optimize Fusion Compiler implementation flows spanning synthesis, place-and-route, and signoff to meet PPA targets.
- Develop and debug RTL-to-GDSII methodologies; identify and resolve timing, power, and area bottlenecks.
- Reproduce and isolate customer issues to determine whether root cause is design- or tool-related and deliver actionable fixes.
- Translate customer findings into detailed enhancement requests for R&D and validate tool upgrades and migrations for customers.
- Serve as customer advocate externally and product expert internally to ensure successful deployments and adoption.

- Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital design or EDA applications, including place-and-route, timing closure, and signoff.
- Strong RTL-to-GDSII debugging skills: ability to trace issues from symptom to root cause using logs, reports, and design data.
- Proficiency in scripting (Tcl, Unix shell, or Perl) to automate flows, parse reports, and manipulate design data.
- Ability to manage technical projects from scoping through delivery, meet deadlines, and communicate status clearly.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin for customer and cross-site collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Synopsys tools (Fusion Compiler, Design Compiler, IC Compiler) and prior work on advanced-node HPC designs.
Education Requirements
